UNSIGHTLY WRINKLES: RESTORE YOUR FACE’S YOUTH AND BEAUTY.
RESHAPE FACIAL VOLUME AND CONTOURS: TEMPLES, CHEEKBONES, CHEEKS, OVAL SHAPE.

Hyaluronic acid fillers have revolutionised anti-ageing medicine: these products are safe, high quality and absorbable. Their modular, viscoelastic texture and properties are suitable for all uses.

Used in injections but also increasingly in cosmetics, hyaluronic acid is a leading anti-ageing product. Naturally present in our body, it maintains skin moisture and tonicity. Hyaluronic acid is a powerful moisturizer but its quality and quantity in the skin gradually decrease with age. This causes the skin to dry and the first wrinkles to appear. Over time the tissues sag and the facial features become hollower as the subcutaneous fat melts away.

Hyaluronic acid injections have become an essential part of anti-ageing treatments. The aim is to fill wrinkles on the face, hands and cleavage, but also to restore volume.

The hyaluronic acid naturally present in the skin has a very short life span. The manufacturers conduct a process known as reticulation to achieve a viscoelastic gel which has the advantage of increasing its life span and produce a filling effect, hence the name ‘filler’. The filler varies in viscosity and flexibility and offers variable tissue integration and lifting capabilities, depending on the extent of reticulation and concentration.

Based on these properties, I will use different products to restore your lips, fill dark circles or redefine your facial outlines and volume. The texture of the hyaluronic acid gel is therefore adjusted to the injection site and the required effect. Choosing the most suitable and best quality filler is the key to a successful injection.

What should I expect from my first session?

During your prior consultation, a detailed examination will be performed to identify which areas are to be treated, ascertain your expectations and needs and devise a treatment plan. I will explain in which situations hyaluronic acid injections should and should not be used. In most cases, it is not necessary to perform a test before injecting the product. We will provide you with a quote.

I will be here to listen to your expectations and the results will always be natural.

The injections will be performed after removing makeup and disinfecting the skin. This may be to fill wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, furrows or to restore or add volume to your cheeks, cheekbones, temples or lips. Or we may offer mesotherapy to relax and moisturize your skin. An injection session can last anywhere between 15 minutes and one hour depending on the area treated.

My goals:

To maintain moderation and achieve natural results. Areas most commonly treated are the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, the lips and restoring facial volume.

These hyaluronic acid injections are sometimes combined with a Botox injection (botulinum toxin) to relax one or more muscles that are contracted and have formed wrinkles (frown lines, crow's feet).

Is it painful?

Dermal filler injections are virtually pain-free. An anaesthetic cream can be prescribed, which is applied one hour prior to the injection. For delicate injections, I use flexible round-ended microcannulas. These have the advantage of reducing the risk of damage to blood vessels and nerves. Bruising is now rare and injections almost painless. For very sensitive areas such as the lips or around the mouth, you will have what is known as local ‘nerve block’ anaesthesia similar to an anaesthetic at the dentist’s. This anaesthesia makes the injection completely painless. However, most hyaluronic acid syringes already contain an anaesthetic.

And after treatment?

After the injection session redness, slight swelling or bruising may appear at the injection site but will quickly disappear. It is advisable to avoid straining your face for a few hours after treatment. You should avoid forcing a smile and massages. You may apply Arnica cream. You will notice results immediately after the injection but the final results will appear after a few days. Some injections will improve further after several weeks, especially for dark circles and cheek volumizing.

Combined treatment

LED (Light Emitting Diode) phototherapy emits a monochrome light that directly targets the heart of the cells to repair your skin. Its anti-ageing effect is an ideal addition to other cosmetic dermatology techniques.

Exposure to the LED after a wrinkle filler injection will reduce post-injection inflammation, accelerate healing, and reduce redness and irritation.

How long will the results last?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are naturally absorbed and broken down over time in the body. The results last for 10-24 months depending on the product used and the injection site.

There are almost 80 types of hyaluronic acid fillers available on the market. I select only those manufactured to the highest safety standards and offering long-lasting results.

What contraindications are there?

Treatment should be avoided if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have an infection in the area treated.

Precautions are necessary for patients with an autoimmune disease.

How much does treatment cost?

€250 to €450 incl. VAT per syringe. Discounts are available depending on the work involved.

OTHER WRINKLE FILLING PRODUCTS

Products other than hyaluronic acid are used more rarely.

Poly-l-lactic acid: Sculptra®

This is a synthetic polymer that stimulates natural collagen synthesis deep down. This product arrived in France in 1999 under the name New Fill® to treat facial lipoatrophy in HIV-positive patients taking antiretroviral drugs. It was then used in cosmetic dermatology under the name Sculptra®.

This product is primarily used to counter significant volume loss. Three sessions 6 weeks apart are necessary to achieve results. One yearly follow-up session is enough.

Calcium hydroxylapatite: Radiesse®

This product is an absorbable tissue generator useful for facial contours.

How much does treatment cost?

One session: €400 incl. VAT.
